How to Create a Skyblock Server on Hytale

This guide explains step by step how to set up a Skyblock server from scratch, using the OuiHeberg hosting service and files available on CurseForge.

📋 Prerequisites

  • An FTP client (such as FileZilla or WinSCP).
  • The game Hytale installed.

Step 1: Order the Server

The first thing to do is to rent a machine capable of running the game.

  1. Go to the dedicated page at OuiHeberg: Hytale Server Hosting.
  2. Choose the offer that suits your needs (number of players, RAM).
  3. Complete the order and wait to receive your login credentials (Management Panel and SFTP access).

Step 2: Download the Skyblock Pack

You now need to retrieve the game mode files (which contain both the map and the necessary mod).

  1. Go to the following CurseForge page: Hytale Skyblock World & Mod.
  2. Click on Download to get the archive.
  3. Once the download is complete, extract the files on your computer. You should see the necessary folders for the server.

Step 3: Server Cleanup (⚠️ Important)

Before installing Skyblock, you need to prepare the ground by removing the default files.

  1. Go to your OuiHeberg management panel.
  2. STOP your server. It must be turned off for this operation.
  3. Connect to your server via SFTP (using FileZilla or WinSCP) using the credentials provided by the host.
  4. Delete only the following folders and files:
  • mods
  • universe
  • config.json

🚨 DISCLAIMER / ATTENTION: This action is irreversible. By deleting these folders, you erase all the old server data (your old map, your progress, and the old installed mods). Make sure to back up if you want to keep anything before deleting.

Step 4: Installing Skyblock

Now that the server is clean, you will put the Skyblock files on it.

  1. In your SFTP client (FileZilla), navigate to the folder where you extracted the download from Step 2.
  2. Select the folders you downloaded (which generally correspond to mods, universe, etc.).
  3. Drag them to the root of your server (the right side in FileZilla).
  4. Wait for the transfer to reach 100% completion.

Step 5: Launch and Connection

Everything is ready, it's time to play!

  1. Go back to your OuiHeberg management panel.
  2. Click on Start.
  3. Open Hytale, go to "Multiplayer," and enter your server's IP address.
  4. Connect: you should appear on your Skyblock island!
