To customize the appearance of your Minecraft server in the multiplayer list, you can add a unique icon to it. Here's how to do it on the Ouiheberg platform:
1. Image requirements:
Before you start, make sure your image scrupulously complies with the following conditions:
- Format: The image must imperatively be in PNG format. JPG, JPEG, GIF or other formats will not work.
- Dimensions: The image must have an exact resolution of 64x64 pixels.
- File name: The image must be named very precisely server-icon.png (all lower case).
You can use image editing software (such as Paint.NET, GIMP, Photoshop, or online tools) to create or resize your image and save it with the correct format and name.
2. Transfer the image to your Ouiheberg server:
You have two main methods for sending the server-icon.png file to your Ouiheberg-hosted server:
Method A: Via the OuiPanel File Manager (Recommended for simplicity)
- Log in to your Ouiheberg customer area and access the management panel for your game server (OuiPanel).
- Select the Minecraft server concerned.
- Navigate to the "File Manager" or "File Management" section.
- You should see a list of your server's files and folders. Make sure you're at the root of the server. This is the main folder where files like server.properties, eula.txt, and the folders world, plugins, etc.
- Use the "Upload" button, "Upload" or a similar function to send your server-icon.png file from your computer to this root directory.
Method B: Via an SFTP Client (For more advanced users)
- You'll need your server's SFTP credentials. You can find them in OuiPanel, usually in a section like "Configuration" > "SFTP Access". Make a note of the host (SFTP server address), the port (often 2022 at Ouiheberg), your SFTP username and password.
- Use an SFTP client like FileZilla or WinSCP (software to be installed on your computer).
- Connect to your server using the SFTP credentials retrieved in step 1.
- Once connected, navigate to the root directory on your server (the main folder displayed after connection).
- Transfer (by drag & drop or via the client's upload menu) your server-icon.png file from your computer to this root directory on the server.
3. Restart the server:
In order for the server to take the new icon into account, a restart is essential.
- Return to OuiPanel.
- Go to the "Console" or "Management" section of your server.
- Use the "Restart" button to restart your Minecraft server.
4. Checking:
Launch your Minecraft client. Go to the Multiplayer section and refresh the server list. If you've followed all the steps correctly, your server should now display the custom icon you've added!
In case of problems:
- Check the image requirements again (PNG format, 64x64 size, name server-icon.png).
- Make sure that the file has been placed in the root of the server and not in a subfolder.
- Confirm that you have restarted the server after adding the image.
