Do I need my own ASN to use BGP?

Yes, to announce your own IP prefixes via BGP, you must own an ASN (Autonomous System Number) assigned by your RIR (RIPE, ARIN, etc.). We can assist you in the process of obtaining an ASN if needed.

Can I use my own IP addresses (BYOIP)?

Yes, our BGP VPS supports BYOIP (Bring Your Own IP). You can announce your own IPv4 and IPv6 address ranges via BGP. You must be the legitimate holder of the IP addresses with an RIR.

How many BGP sessions can I establish?

You can establish as many BGP sessions as needed for your configuration. We support eBGP sessions (with external AS) and iBGP (within your AS). Each session can be secured with MD5 authentication.

Does BGP VPS include DDoS protection?

Yes, 3 Tbps Anti-DDoS protection is included for all our BGP VPS and covers all your announced prefixes. This protection automatically filters volumetric attacks (UDP amplification, TCP/SYN floods) and application layer attacks (HTTP floods, slowloris). For a BGP VPS, we recommend at minimum 4 GB RAM and 2 vCPU. For full routing tables (full BGP table with 900k+ routes), plan for at least 8 GB RAM. Requirements vary based on your usage and number of announced/received routes.
